We love welcoming people to Canada. Having Immigrated to New Zealand, I know leaving everything isn't a decision that can be easily made. Canada has a lot of confusing loops for new comers (and yes, I'm pointing them out to my MPs and appropriate the Ministers hoping to change them). But at least in Alberta, the economy is weathering the down turn well, and we're talking about the signs it's already over. BTW - we have 10 provinces and 3 territories. :)

Hi Tim;

When I read your comment and felt your concern, I sensed the Lord lead me to make a suggestion to you.

Many say, including the U.N. for several years in a row, that Canada is the BEST country in the world in which to live. (I and Trevor, I suspect, would heartily agree with them & the U.N. :-))

You'd have minimum cost, complete healthcare coverage in every Province after, normally, a 3 month wait. You'd have reasonably easy immigration requirements as a U.S. / U.K citizen. And no language or major culture change issues!

Your family could choose 12 glorious Provinces in which to live as close to your kids as you can arrange plus our territories in the north, with one on the border of Alaska. As you may know and any Google Map will confirm, our major cities hug our border with the U.S. ...right across one of the largest countries in the world. (Bring your passport though, it's no-longer undefended. Or passport-free courtesy of our friends in Washington! :-) )

If I can help you further, please let me know via any of the connecting points below my signature.

In Christ,
Gary

Praying for you Tim. I'm working on another book called "How to Hope at the End of Your Rope" Maybe you can give me some feedback on it before it goes to press?

Hi,

Appreciate this! We have sensed that we are in transition for over 1 year and this next job change will be my last and so it is very important-no margin for error in this one.

We are from the US and are missionaries in the UK. I am early 50's with diabetes. We have 100% free health care in the UK. I pay nothing for my meds, hospital, etc... We are sensing that we need to return to the US for some family reasons with our kids but not so sure. For us the biggest concern is for Health Insurance in the USA. We have looked into health insurance in the USA and with my diabetes the costs will be about $12,000.00 a year with being in excellent health. So we are waiting to see if our situation with our daughters improves before we go the road of personal bankruptcy for health reasons. This article was helpful.
